International Day of Yoga observed at ICAR-CIWA

The International Day of Yoga was observed at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar on 21st June 2015. The Yoga day concept took shape after our Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi Ji, a Yoga practitioner himself, spoke about the benefits at the UN General Assembly in November, 2014. A few months later, Yoga has come to be accepted throughout the globe as a phenomenon, and UN has declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. Across the world, 193 countries celebrate this day.

As part of this Day, cutting across all age groups, the staff members of ICAR-CIWA along with their families participated in the Yoga session between 7:00 and 7:30 hrs on 21st June, 2015, at the ICAR-CIWA premises. Awareness was also created among the participants about the goodness of Yoga.

“Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between people and nature; a holistic approach to health and well being“
Shri. Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Prime Minister
