ICAR-CIWA celebrated The National Science Day on 28th February, 2017

ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar celebrated 'The National Science Day' on 28th February, 2017. The program was organized by nodal officer, Dr. A. K. Panda and was assisted by a committee set up for the purpose. Dr. Mrs Jatinder Kishtwaria, Director ICAR-CIWA, was the Chief Guest and Smt. Reeta Jena, Founder CATCH, Bhuaneswar was the guest of honour during the function. The progamme began with the welcome address by Dr. A. K. Panda in which he elucidated the history as well as the objectives of celebrating this day. During her address, the Director ICAR-CIWA, emphasized on the Importance of science used in the daily life of the people and how science has made life easier for us. Smt. Reeta Jena, guest of honour delivered the science day lecture on the theme “Science and Technology for The Specially Abled Persons. During her presentation, She stressed about ‘barrier free structures’ to enable the specially abled persons to access different amenities and facilities in everyday life. She also highlighted few success stories of the specially abled persons who were excelled in life and which inspires others to strive towards excellence and motivates others for working for the specially abled persons to support them. The celebration ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Tanuja, S. scientist of the institute.
