International Day Of Yoga Celebrated at ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar

ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA) Bhubaneswar celebrated fifth International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2019 in the ICAR-CIWA campus. Director, Dr. S. K. Srivastava welcomed all the participants to the event and put light on how Yoga plays such an important role in our day to day lifestyle. Morning 7.00 to 8:30 AM, yoga session was conducted in the presence of a yoga expert Mr. Dinabandhu Sarangi, Yoga Meditation Centre, Dumuduma, Bhubaneswar. Various Yoga Asanas and Pranayamas were demonstrated and conducted by Yoga expert. All the scientific, Technical, Administrative and Contractual staff of ICAR-CIWA were actively participated and performed various yoga asanas. The Yoga expert also answered various queries raised by the staff on the benefits of specific Asanas & Pranayams on physical as well as mental health. The poster competition for the staff of ICAR-CIWA was also organised with the theme on "Yoga for heart".
A health check up programme was arranged at Institute Campus for the Staffs including field Staffs. In the afternoon, an essay competition on the theme "Yoga for health and well being" was conducted for ICAR-CIWA Staffs. Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Principal Scientist &Nodal Officer of IYD also delivered presentation on "Yoga- a noble way for Stress Management " which was appreciated.
Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA distributed prizes to the winners of various programmes at the end of the programme. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Nodal Officer, IYD, Ms. Mhatre Chaitrali Shashank, Mr. Shaji. A, Er. Pragati Kishore Rout and Er Subrat K. Das. The event concluded with vote of thanks.
