The Annual Review Workshop under the ICAR-CIWA-IRRI Collaborative Project "Increasing Productivity of Rice based Cropping Systems and Farmers Income in Odisha was organised at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar on 27th June, 2019. Dr. Sabita Mishra, Director In-Charge, delivered the welcome address. Dr. A.K. Panda, Principal Scientist and PI made a brief presentation on overall progress of the project. Dr. Ranjitha Puskur, Gender Research Programme Leader from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) chaired the technical session. All the three grantee project partners BSSS (Balasore), SWAD (Satyabadi,Puri) and Pragati (Koraput) presented their salient achievements of the work progress. The efforts made by Pragti (Koraput) in forming a Women Farmer Producer Company "Chitridora" for marketing of aromatic rice was highly appreciated during the meeting. During the presentation, project partner SWAD also presented the damage caused by cyclone "Phoni" in the project area in Satyabadi, Puri. Dr. Ranjitha Puskur, Research Programme Leader advised the SWAD to formulate action plan and submit at the earliest for financial assistance. A detailed discussion was also held on the future course of action under the project. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Charles Jeeva, Principal Scientist and Co-PI of the project.
