The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA) participated in the State Agricultural Fair organized by Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Government of Odisha and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) from 20-24 January 2020 at Janta Maidan, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.The above said Programme was conducted under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble State Agriculture Minister Dr Arun kumar Sahu and which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha Sj. Nabin Pattnaik as Chief Guest on 20th January 2020 at 11.45 am. The valedictory function was conducted on 24th January 2020 at 6.30pm. His Excellency, Governor of Odisha Professor Ganeshi Lal graced the audience as the Chief Guest for this occasion.

The ICAR-CIWA exhibition pavilion was put up with the display of posters, specimens, models and literature on gender-friendly technologies. More than 1500 farmers and farm women from different districts of Odisha visited the CIWA stall, and were briefed about the research and extension activities of the Institute, its role in women empowerment and its technologies for drudgery reduction in farm and home activities, nutrition and livelihood security.The dignitaries like Dr. N.S. Rathore, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur, Rajasthan, Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Dr.H. Pathak, Director, ICAR-NRRI, Cuttack, Dr. Raul, Dean, Extension, OUAT, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Vyas, In-charge, ICAR-CARI(Regional centre, Bhubaneswar) also visited the stall and appreciated the presented technologies. The ICAR-CIWA team of Scientific and Technical Staff, Dr. Jyoti Nayak, Smt. Geeta Saha and Shri Sanjaya Kumar Behera facilitated the showcasing of the Institute’s technologies in the Exhibition.
