Two days training cum skill development programme on Bee-Keeping under SC Sub-Plan was organized during 16-17, March, 2020 for farm women of Baral, Chaudabatia and Harisankarpur villages of Puri district at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar keeping SOP in mind . Under this scheme, forty number of Honeybee boxes as Critical input were provided to the trained farmwomen for socio economic upliftment on 5.4.2021. The main objective of bee keeping is to motivate the farmwomen to take it as an enterprise, most suited to landless people or with small holdings. It does not require continuous labour, not require heavy investments. It provides multisource income and improves crop yields through cross pollination. An attempt by ICAR-CIWA has been taken for the economical upliftment of schedule caste farming community for enhancing their livelihood. Farmwomen were also advised for further training on packaging, branding and market linkage for their produce.
