The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (CIWA), Bhubaneswar has commercialized the technology 'DRWA Hand-operated Maize Dehusker cum Sheller' by entering into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on non-exclusive basis with M/s Sai Shakti (Manufacturer of Agricultural Implements), Cuttack in a brief program held at this Institute on 20th February, 2015.

The ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar has developed a farm machinery viz., 'DRWA- Hand operated Maize Dehusker cum Sheller', which is a women-friendly hand operated equipment for shelling and de-husking of maize with an output of 60 kg/hr. The technology has received appreciation from different stakeholders in widely tested field trials during 2012-14. Considering the necessity of the technology for large scale adoption, the technology is commercialized with the primary objective of promoting localized production/ manufacture to ensure the availability of this technology to the farming community, to mitigate the drudgery farm women, and to promote the micro and small enterprises dealing with farm implements.
