ICAR-CIWA organised Capacity building cum demonstration pogramme on “Empowerment of Farm Women through small scale Livestock and poultry production and distribution of inputs to SC women farmers
ICAR- Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar organized a skill based capacity building cum demonstration pogramme on “Empowering of Farm Women through small scale poultry and goatery” on 9th February 2024 at Srirampur, Balipatna, Khordha, Odisha, under SCSP programme. Dr Biswanath Sahoo, Pr. Scientist explained about the importance of small animals and poultry among farm women. The farm women were advised to follow scientific management practices of poultry production and effective care and management of day old chicks, caring and vaccination, feeding, disease management etc. The importance of green fodder and feeding of balanced ration to small ruminants and dairy cows was also explained to farm women. About 70 farmers of three village khajuripada, Bhalidanda, Srirampur participated in the training pogramme. During the pogramme, 1000 nos of vanraja chicks, chick feed, feeder, drinker, plastic shed nets were distributed to the 50 SC farm women. The pogramme was coordinated by Dr. B. Sahoo, Pr. Scientist, Animal nutrition, in presence of Jhilli Bhoi, Sarapancha & nominee and Kumudini Swain, President of Maheera (FPO), Srirampur.
