On 20th July 2015, ICAR-CIWA participated in the ‘Zilla Krushak Sammelan’ organized by KVK- Khordha, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar. The programme was inaugurated by Mr Shashi Bhushan Behera, the Hon’ble MLA of Jayadev constituency in the presence of Mr. N.Sahu, Collector and District Magistrate, Khordha district and Dr P. Jayasankar, Director, ICAR-CIFA. Women friendly technologies, extension strategies and drudgery reducing tools developed by the Institute and AICRP-Home Science were showcased in the exhibition through different models and posters. The mandate and activities of ICAR-CIWA was explained to the Hon’ble MLA, Mr Shashi Bhushan Behera, during his visit to the stall. He appreciated the efforts of the Institute and suggested the modification of indigenous agricultural tools from a woman’s perspective. Farmers who participated in the programme showed keen interest in the display of tools and publications and their queries were answered by the exhibition team of Mrs Tanuja.S , Scientist (Fish Harvest and Post Harvest Technology), Mrs Geeta Saha ,Technical Officer and Mr Atul Chetan Hembrom, Technical Assistant of ICAR-CIWA.
