ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar celebrating 'Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan' days from 23rd to 25th December, 2016 to commemorate birth anniversary of two former Prime Ministers Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Late Shri Chaudhary Charan Singh. As a part of the celebration, one outreach programme for 50 farm women was organized on 23rd December, 2016 at ICAR-CIWA campus. The programme was started with the welcome address by Dr. Sabita Mishra, Principal Scientist. Dr. Jatinder Kishtwaria, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar inaugurated the programme. On her inaugural remarks, she briefed the importance of celebrating ‘Jai Kisan Jai Vigyan' days and also highlighted the role of ICAR-CIWA in addressing gender issues in agriculture and allied fields. Dr. H. K. Dash, Principal Scientist, deliberated on gender mainstreaming and women empowerment and emphasized the importance of linkage between farmers and scientists for effective transfer of technologies. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Dr. A. K. Panda, Principal Scientist of the institute. A training cum demonstration on Oyster Mushroom Cultivation was imparted to the farm women during the occasion by the outreach Team led by Dr. Sabita Mishra.
