Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), New Delhi graced the Swachhta Pakhwada programme at ICAR - Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar on 29 December, 2018. During his address, he appreciated the Institute for its Swacchta activities in its adopted villages, and doing this campaign on Pan-India level, with the help of its All India Coordinated Research Project (Home Science) units in different states. He also urged the Scientists to work for the technological empowerment of Mahila Kisan. The programme was presided over by Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA. In his welcome address, he highlighted the significance of celebrating Swachhta Pakhwada and briefed the gathering about the various activities organized as part of the campaign.

Tree planting, mass cleaning drive and human chain formation were also organized to spread the message of ''Clean India, Green India''. During the celebration, the winners of various competitions organized as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign, Vigilance Awareness Week and Hindi Pakhwada, and best performing farm staff were also felicitated by the Chief Guest.
