Participation of ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar in the Krishi Kumbha - 2019 at Motihari, Bihar from 9 to 11 February, 2019

ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar participated in the Krishi Kumbha - 2019 held at the Gandhi Maidan, Motihari, Bihar from 9 to 11 February, 2019. The Krishi Kumbh was organised jointly by ICAR- RCER, Patna, MGFRI, Motihari and RPCAU, Pusa. The three day Mega Agriculture Show was inaugurated by honourable Governor of Bihar Shri Lalji Tandon. ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar put up an exhibition stall to explain the activities undertaken by the Institute. Various exhibits in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry, aquaculture, drudgery etc were displayed at the exhibition. The exhibition stall of ICAR-CIWA was visited by a large number of farmers and farm women. The farmers and farm women appreciated the work being undertaken by the Institute and made a number of inquiries related to Improved sickle, Vegetable plucker, Pulse beetle trap and availability of duck breed in India. During the exhibition, a session was organised on 10th February on the theme 'Women empowerment' in which a team of scientists from ICAR-CIWA: Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director, Dr. Lipi Dash, Dr. Anil Kumar, Dr. Tanuja S., Ms. Gayati Maharana and Shri Jannadan Biswal participated. On all the three days of the exhibition, Sh. Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare spoke to the farmers about the various schemes being implemented by the government of India besides other developmental activities undertaken by the Hon'ble Minister. From ICAR-CIWA, the exhibition team comprised of Dr. Anil Kumar, Principal Scientist and Sh. D.N. Sarangi, Technical Officer.
