ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar celebrated "The National Science Day'' with great enthusiasm on 28th February, 2019 with the theme “Science for the People and the People for Science”. The progamme began with the welcome address by Dr. A. K. Panda, Principal Scientist & Nodal National Science Day, in which he elucidated the history as well as the objectives of celebrating the National Science Day. During his address, the Director ICAR-CIWA, emphasized on the importance of science in the daily life of the people and how science has made life easier for us. He also urged the scientists to be thinkers and work in the front areas of research. Twenty five farmwomen from the Maa Durga Sanskritka Parisad and Pathagar, Khorda and all the staff of ICAR-CIWA participated in the programme. The celebration ended with vote of thanks by Er. M. Chaitrali Shashank, scientist of the institute.
