Hon’ble DDG (Agril Education), Dr. R. C. Agrawal reviewed the Progress of ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar

Dr. R. C. Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Education) Division of Agricultural Education, ICAR, New Delhi visited ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar on 31st October 2019 and reviewed the progress and achievements of the institute. Dr. P. S. Pandey, ADG (EP& HS) was also present during the occasion. All the staff of ICAR-CIWA attended the meeting. At the outset, Director welcomed the DDG, ADG and other participants to the meeting. The meeting began with Pledge on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) by Hon’ble DDG to all participants to foster and reinforce dedication to preserve and strengthen unit, integrity and security of our nation on the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director (ICAR-CIWA) made a presentation on the achievements of the Institute. This was followed by another presentation on EFC (2020-25) by Dr. B. Sahoo, Principal Scientist & Member Secretary (EFC). Four Technical bulletins published by the scientists of the institute were also released by the dignitaries on this occasion.
Hon’ble DDG, critically reviewed the ongoing research activities of the Institute and appreciated achievements made by the institute. He further emphasized that ICAR-CIWA being a National Institute, should take up network projects with National Perspective. He advised the Scientists to focus on research priorities keeping in mind the welfare of farm women. Dr. P. S. Pandey offered valuable and constructive suggestions for increasing the visibility of the institute at the global level. He also stressed upon the responsibility and accountability of the scientists for the problem solving research programme for the farm women. The meeting ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr. A.K. Panda, Nodal Officer, PME Cell.
