Workshop organized on Entrepreneurship Development through Value Addition and Market Linkage

A one day Training-cum-Workshop on "Entrepreneurship Development through Value Addition and Market Linkage" under ICAR-NASF project was organized by ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar on 28th February, 2022 in Sankilo village of Nischintakoili block, Cuttack district, Odisha. The Workshop-cum-Training programme was attended by about 70 participants including scientists of ICAR-CIWA, farm women, farmers, Personnel from Line Department and Media Personnel.
At the outset, Dr. Lipi Das Principal Scientist (Agril. Extension) and PI of the project welcomed all participants and described about importance of value addition and market linkage for Entrepreneurship development and stressed upon scientific method of preparation of different value added products from fruits, vegetables and milk to get maximum financial benefits by using the available resources and linking those products to market. She also discussed about importance of Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) for market linkage and focused on up-gradation of Women Farmers Group “Ananya Mahila Bikas Samiti” to WFPO to fetch better price and profits.
 
Dr. Biswanath Sahoo, Principal Scientist, Animal Nutrition explained about Women Entrepreneurship through value addition of dairy products and marketing for higher income. He highlighted about scientific method of preparation of different value added products from milk and their market linkage through FPO to get maximum financial benefits. He also discussed about exposure of women farmers to various research organizations for learning preparation of different value added products from milk.
Mr. Atul Chetan Hemrom, Senior Technical Assistant discussed about the importance of Nutri-Smart Village programme launched by ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar for nutritional enhancement of farm women with various aspects of value addition and market linkage. Miss. Pragnya Priyadarshini Panda, Research Associate and Mr. Rabi Sankar Panda, SRF of the project also highlighted about scientific method of preparation and importance of different value added products from fruits and vegetables
The workshop was followed by distribution of HYV of vegetable seeds among farm women and three progressive farm women of the project viz., Mrs. Manorama Nayak, Mrs. Rukmani Nayak and Mrs. Nirmala Nayak were felicitated by ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar for their significant contribution in agriculture for women empowerment.
