Training and Demonstration Programme on "Value Added Mushroom Products for Livelihood Improvement of Farm Women" at ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar

A training-cum-demonstration programme was organized on 29.06.2022 to create awareness and skill development of farm women on "Value added mushroom products for livelihood improvement of farm women". This training programme was organized under the project "Integrating Gender Dimenstions for Livelihood Improvement of Farmwomen through Empowerment". Dr. Anil Kumar, Director, in his speech stressed upon the development of women enterpreneurship through e-market platform like AMAZON. He also highlighted the contribution of backyard poultry rearing and diary farming for livelihood improvement of farm women. Ms Kadambinee Ray from OUAT, Bhubaneswar discussed the scope of value added mushroom products for income generation of rural women and also imparted skill training on preparation of mushroom pickle, chutney, etc. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Sabita Mishra, PI of the project and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Ananta Sarakr. About 30 farm women from Kanas and Nimapara blocks of Puri district participated in the programme.
