Women in Agriculture Day was celebrated on 4th December, 2022 at Gopabandhu Daridra Narayan Sevashrama Sangha of Talapatna village, Sakhigopal.Smt Gayatri Mohapatra, Sarapancha of Kadua Grampanchyat was the Chief Guest of the programme. Along with her Smt Dipa Behera, Sarapanch of Biraramchandrapur and Sri Jagannath Barik, In-Charge Gopabandhu Sevashrama Sangha attended the programme. More than 100 farm women from nearby villages participated in the programme. Smt Kanaklata Panda, progressive farmwoman welcomed all the dignitaries, participants .Smt Geeta Saha, Technical Officer, ICAR-CIWA briefed about the importance of celebration of Women in Agriculture Day. Dr Jyoti Nayak, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIWA,emphasized the importance of balanced diet and micro nutrients to mitigate malnutrition and advised the participants to raise nutritional garden in their backyard. The Chief Guest Smt Gayatri Mohapatra , highlighted about the role of women to build the society and praised ICAR-CIWA for its initiatives to empower farmwomen. Smt Dipa Behera, told the farmwomen about the various women related govt.schemes for income generation. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Smt. Geeta Saha. The programme was coordinated by the Nodal Officer Dr Jyoti Nayak.
