Celebration of Agricultural Education Day by ICAR-CIWA

Agricultural Education Day 2023 was celebrated by ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar by involving students of Government High School, Mendhasala, Bhubaneswar. The celebration was organized to commemorate the birth Anniversary of Dr Rajendra Prasad, the first President of independent India and the first Union Minister of Agriculture of our country, to create awareness among the children and youth on the importance of agriculture in sustaining the society. During the programme the students of the school were elaborated on the status of Indian agriculture and the importance of agriculture and agricultural education in the development of Indian economy. They were detailed about the professional opportunities existing in agriculture and allied sectors. Smt. Ratnamanjari Biswal, Headmistress, Government High School, Mendhasala, Bhubaneswar highlighted the increasing number of girl students in agricultural education system which is welcome sign for agricultural prosperity of our country. During the programme, awareness on the importance of balanced nutrition in molding a healthy generation was also created among the students. Special emphasis on the benefits of Shri Anna for the “cultivator, consumer and climate” was given during the awareness programme. Around 300 students participated in the programme and the programme was co-ordinated by Dr Tanuja S, Senior Scientist and Mrs Tapaswini Sahoo, Sr. Technical Assistant.
