The three days residential Capacity Building Programme on ‘Gender Sensitive Nutri-smart Organic Agri-Practices and Digital Innovations for profitable Agri-preneurship’ sponsored by National Commission for Women, New Delhi and organized during 6-8 January 2025 by ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar. The Honorable Director of the Institute, Dr. Mridula Devi addressed the participants and highlighted the role of ICAR-CIWA in promoting the agripreneurship for better tomorrow. She expressed the importance of farmers clubs in mobilizing farm women towards social, technological and economical empowerment through 'SASHAKTI Krushirat Mahila Club'. She also emphasized the pivotal role of ICAR-CIWA in fostering agri-preneurship through the value addition of agricultural produces, proper labeling & packaging and marketing of value added products prepared by the entrepreneurs. |
The expert from ICAR-CIWA, Regional Centre of Organic and Natural Farming, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, ICAR-IIWM, ICAR-NRRI Cuttack, SOA University, Bhubaneswar delivered lectures and practical demonstration on the various topics related to challenges for rural start-ups, Government programmes and policies to empower women led start ups, important start up sectors in agriculture, productive environment for agribusinesses, linking start up to market, core competence and skill development initiatives and awareness about e-commerce & e-marketing of agriculture products. A total of 51 progressive women farmers & budding entrepreneurs from 9 different districts of Odisha (Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Khordha, Koraput, Nayagarh, Puri & Rayagada) benefitted through this Capacity Building Programme. |
