Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU)

Institute Technology Management Unit (ITMU) has been constituted in the year 2010 at Institute level to facilitate Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer/ Commercialization as per the ICAR guidelines with objectives to pursue intellectual property protection, maintenance and transfer/commercialization pertinent to technology (ies) developed at Institute level. ITMU functions as coordinating unit and facilitator to recognize the promising technologies developed, process the filing of patent and maintaining the IP portfolios of the Institute through Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC). The Institute Technology Management Committee (ITMC) at ICAR-CIWA was constituted as per the guidelines of ICAR to facilitate the process of all Intellectual Property (IP) developed by the Institute Scientists. ITMU/ITMC seeks advice/assistance from the Zonal Agro-Technology Management Centres (ZTMCs) at the zonal level and strictly obeys the administrative guidelines/ advisory or policy decisions taken by the ICAR from time to time.

ICAR-CIWA deals with the licensing of women friendly technologies developed by the Institute to public organizations/ private companies, Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) and individuals. Licensing of technologies is done on non-exclusive basis, for a period of five years through signing of a licence agreement. ITMU works with Agrinnovate India Limited, New Delhi to license appropriate technologies.

Procedure for technology licensing from ICAR-CIWA:
The licensing involves payment of license fee followed by the signing of license agreement.  A technology document contains the detailed information of the technology is also provided to the licensee for future reference. Client will need to send the mail to Director ICAR-CIWA to get the detailed information of licensing. On confirmation of licensing the technology, a draft MoU will be shared to the licensee. Once the terms and conditions are agreed and on receipt of the payment of license fee the MoU will be executed on a mutually convenient date. Training will be imparted on the same day and a certificate of training will be provided to the licensee.

Bharat Ka Amrut Mohatsav: ICAR Lecture Series

As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, a massive outreach campaign titled ’75 lecture series’ has been taken up by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, the apex body for co-ordinating, guiding and managing research and education in agriculture including horticulture, fisheries and animal sciences in the entire country, has also initiated several activities to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’.

These 75 lectures shall be delivered by experts in various domains related to agriculture and also by eminent scientists, journalists, spiritual leaders, motivational speakers and successful entrepreneurs.
