Training on Manufacture of Jute Handicrafts

Six days training program on ‘Manufacture of Jute Handicrafts’ was conducted in collaboration with ICAR- NIRJAFT, Kolkata from 17 – 22 Oct., 2016 at ICAR – CIWA, Bhubaneswar. Fifteen women attended this training program. In the inaugural session on 17th Oct., 2016 Director, Dr. Jatinder Kishtwaria, ICAR - CIWA in her inaugural address emphasized on group dynamic, establishment of entrepreneurship and market linkages through this training program. In the valedictory session Director, Dr. A. N. Roy, ICAR - NIRJAFT, Kolkata highlighted the importance of jute in the present scenario and advised the trainees to make handicraft products in a group and also requested to the Director, ICAR – CIWA to conduct the advance course for the same trainees by which impact study can be possible. All the prepared jute items like bags, dolls, wall hangings, mats etc made by trainees during the training program were exhibited and highly appreciated by all.
