ICAR-CIWA observed Agricultural Education Day on 3 December, 2019

ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture (ICAR-CIWA), Bhubaneswar observed 'Agricultural Education Day' at Government Nodal High School, CRP, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar. At the outset importance of Agricultural Education Day was discussed among the students & teachers and the students were encouraged to take up agriculture discipline as a challenging career option. During this occasion Quiz, Drawing, Debate and display of Science Model competitions on 'Importance of Agricultural Education: Need of the Hour' and 'Effect of climate change on agriculture' were organized among junior and senior groups students. A total of 650 students and 39 school teachers participated in the programme and more than 300 students participated in various competitions. Dr A.K.Panda, Dr.Lipi Das, Dr Biswanath Sahoo and Dr.J.Charles Jeeva were the judges for evaluating various competitions.The Chief Gust of this programmes was Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar. He visited the models displayed by the students and interacted with them. At the end of the programme, he distributed the awards to the winners of various competitions. This programme was coordinated by the Nodal Officer Ms Gayatri Moharana and Co Nodal Officer Er Chaitrali S. Mhatre with the other team members of CIWA Mrs Geeta Saha, Er. Pragati Kishore Rout, Er Subrat K. Das and Mrs Usharani Maradana.
