Celebration of 75th Independence Day 2021

ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar celebrated 75th Independence Day on 15th August 2021 in the institute premises following proper COVID-19 protocols. All staff including scientist, technical, administrative and contractual personnel were present for the event. On this occasion the Director Dr. Anil Kumar, hoisted the national flag followed by mass singing of National Anthem. The director remembered the great sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for getting the Independence and described the role played by the leaders in nation building after independence. He said that the national interest shall remain of paramount importance in all our endeavour in consonance with the theme of this year ‘Nation First, Always First’. Described the meaning of all three bands of our national flag, he recited the poem “केसरिया बल भरने वाला, सादा है सच्चाई, हरा रंग है हरी हमारी, धरती की अंगड़ाई।और चक्र कहता कि हमारा, कदम कभी न रुकेगा। ऊँचा सदा रहेगा झंडा, ऊँचा सदा रहेगा” । The Director praised the significant contributions made by the Institute in addressing the issues of women in agriculture and exhorted the employees to look for the emerging challenges in Indian agriculture and mainstreaming and empowering women to make it remunerative and rewarding. He also outlined the “भारत का अमृत महोत्सव” programme launched by the Government of India to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence. He urged all the employees to strive hard to take the Institute to new heights in the field of research and extension. The celebration ended with the distribution of snacks to all the participants of the programme.
