Review Meeting- AICRP on Home Science

Two days Review meeting of AICRP on Home Science was inaugurated by Hon' ble DDG, Dr. N.S. Rathore, Agricultural Education, ICAR on 9-10 April, 2018 at ICAR-CIWA Bhubaneswar. The Hon' ble ADG, Dr. P. S. Pandey, EP & HS, ICAR has also graced this programme. A total of 60 scientists from 12 centres of AICRP on Home Science have been participated in this review meeting. Experts from various local ICAR institutes such as ICAR-NRRI, ICAR-IIWM ICAR-CIFA and faculties from OUAT, Bhubaneswar have also attended the meeting. Dr. S. K. Srivastava, Director, ICAR-CIWA and Coordinator, AICRP on Home Science presented welcome address and gave the background and purpose of conducting this meeting. In his speech he emphasized the scientists for bringing more visibility of their work through dissemination of knowledge, skill and technologies among farming communities. He also urged for revenue generation by the scientists at their respective locations. Dr. P. S. Pandey, ADG,EP & HS in his inaugural speech mentioned that various Committee were made by the Council to review the work of AICRP on Home Science time to time at different locations. Now a days there is a shift in Govt. monitoring system and they are going to monitor the work through quarterly targets and achievements. The technical coordinators of the five component of AICRP on Home Science disciplines made presentation of their work done during 2017-18 and targets for 2018-19. Hon' ble DDG, Dr. N.S. Rathore, Agricultural Education, in his opening speech explained the need to strengthen the AICRP on Home Science. The scientist should do SWOT analysis before taking projects. They should have vision and mission for contribution way forward. There is a need for conducting applied research for technology/ prototype generation, its assessment and proper demonstration.
